NY Fishing Reports  Spring  2009

 

11-29-09- Sandy Hook: Striped bass Blitzes for hours, feeding on sand eels and bay anchovies. Stripers up to 14lbs provided non stop action on the fly using          Chart/wht  Magnum Minnows

   

     

 

 

11-09- New York Bight: False albacore continue to feed on small bay anchovies small jigs and flies are the ticket. Schools of Slammer bluefish  have been blitzing bait for hours, Diamond and Bucktail Jigs for the spin fisherman and Half/half Glousers for the fly fisherman have been scoring.            

The Fall Run has begun, I have Dates available!

          

 

 

9-3-09: New York Bight: False Albacore are here in numbers and are feeding on small bay anchovies for hours, small epoxy flies are working and small jigs for the spin fisherman. Offshore fishing:  Tuna are taking chunk bait Jigging and trolling. Skipjack and Mahi/Mahi are taking flies. 

     

 

8-3-09: Offshore Fishing: Bluefin Tuna up to 60lbs, Mahi/Mahi and Skip Jack Tuna are being taking by trolling spreader bars and rigged  ballyhoo 60 miles out.  

 

7-19-09 New York Bight:  Striped bass up to 12 lbs are Blitzing  Bay anchovies for hours under working birds Clouser  Half/half and bucktail jigs  hammered the bass with double digit catches early mornings and late afternoon.

 

 

 

7-6-09 Raritan Bay: Great Blue fishing ,we have been finding fish all day long These fish are Blitzing  Bay Anchovies  Small bunker patterns olive/white with flash have been working. .

     

 

6-20-09 Raritan Bay: Bluefish Blitzes lasting for hours with fish from 5lbs to slammer Blues up to 12lbs. Spinning tackle with Plastic shad tails were working.      

         

 

   

6-3-09: NJ Ocean: Ocean  beaches are producing big bass up to 48 lbs slamming  live bunker, now is the time to get a  trophy Bass don't miss out I have dates available call now!
